Be a Torchbearer for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics

I was once an active member of my high school volleyball team. It was a great opportunity to join such sports. I became more motivated to be physically and mentally active. Sport has been one of the most important socio-cultural learning experiences for men and women for many years. Individuals who play sports have a more positive body image and experience higher states of psychological well being than men and women who do not play sports. Traditionally, it helps us learned about teamwork, goal setting, the pursuit of excellence in performance and other achievement-oriented behaviors. Anyway, I came across with this amazing site that promotes healthy lifestyles and to live active. SOGO Active wants Canadian youth from coast to coast to spark inspiration in each other to get active and have fun. The program is a Coca-Cola initiative, executed by ParticipAction, through intensive consultation with leading Canadian physical activity experts, teenagers & a broad network of provincial, territorial, aboriginal & community-based organization. And, guess what? Coca-Cola will award over 1,000 torchbearer spots in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay to teenagers who join SOGO Active & demonstrate a commitment to adopting an active lifestyle. It’s pretty cool. Huh! So I encourage teenagers out there to visit the site and participate. This is your chance to try different ideas and get active.
